OSFClone is a free, self-starting solution that allows you to create or clone accurate raw disk images quickly and independently of the installed operating system . In addition to raw disk images, OSFClone also supports Advance Forensics (AFF) open format image drives. AFF is an open and extensible format for storing disk images and associated metadata. An open standard allows investigators to quickly and efficiently use their preferred tools for drive analysis. After creating or cloning the disk image, you can mount the image with PassMark OSFMount before performing analysis with PassMark OSForensics.

OSFClone creates a legal image of the disk, preserving any unused sectors, slack space, file fragmentation, and undeleted file records from the original hard disk. Boot into OSFClone and clone your FAT, NTFS and USB tethered drives! OSFClone can be booted from a CD/DVD drive or from a USB flash drive.

Verify that the disk clone is identical to the source volume, using OSFClone to compare the MD5 or SHA1 hashes between the clone and the source volume. After creating an image, you can choose from a range of compression options to reduce the size of the newly created image, increase portability, and save disk space.

Use OSFClone to store forensic metadata (such as case number, evidence number, examiner name, description, and checksum) for cloned or generated images.< /p>
